Up the rock of Gibraltar- the southern tip of Spain. A young family and a guide climbed up to admire the view from a height.
As they spiralled up to the top of the rock passing enclaves along the way, the higher they went the more monkeys seemed to appear during the day.
They were so joyful, jumping and swinging all over the place.
The guide tells the family, “You know in certain seasons when the monkeys migrate here, in the winter it would get so cold that the monkeys’ tails would freeze off. But eventually when they started birthing, their offspring were born without tails because they had adapted to the environment.
The father paused for a moment and then responded, “That’s what you call toughness……
If your exposed to something long enough you’ll freeze your tail off.”
